The Sandy DMV office has been operating three days a week for the past year due to staffing shortages. The office will have four dedicated employees in place to allow for the expanded schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Effective Feb. 18, Sandy DMV\u2019s new operational hours will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>9 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m. Wednesday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Note, Feb. 17 is Presidents Day, and all state offices will be closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the fourth DMV office in the last three months to increase its service hours, joining Woodburn, Lebanon and McMinnville. DMV still encourages customers to complete the transactions they can online at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/links-2.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/http:%2F%2Fdmv2u.oregon.gov%2F\/1\/01010194dc36004a-701b7bb1-751c-4516-adf1-d09dc4dbb5ce-000000\/gC_EqU9vD2CAMdaj0yuH8vWikFtTLXLUzxybJAxseC4=391\">DMV2U.oregon.gov<\/a>&nbsp;or visit one of our recently launched&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/links-2.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:%2F%2Fodotkiosk.oregon.gov%2F\/1\/01010194dc36004a-701b7bb1-751c-4516-adf1-d09dc4dbb5ce-000000\/dSOIghOrRlzESBgz4ueXxp5lhLl9-at90Xem0IHBFeU=391\">self-serve express kiosks<\/a>&nbsp;in nine select Fred Meyer stores statewide for vehicle registration renewals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor every person that uses DMV2U or renews their vehicle registration through a kiosk, that\u2019s one less transaction taking place inside a DMV office, which frees up space for other customers,\u201d said DMV Administrator Amy Joyce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some transactions must be completed inside a DMV office, including getting a REAL ID. Starting May 7, anyone 18 years and older will be required to present a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/links-2.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:%2F%2FOregon.gov%2FREALID\/1\/01010194dc36004a-701b7bb1-751c-4516-adf1-d09dc4dbb5ce-000000\/09aBt-Lzu_ufiLUQXcDjxDIpTkSTdm9kfU1SbBYSKaY=391\">REAL ID or an acceptable alternative<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;like a passport, passport card or military ID \u2013&nbsp;to board a flight within the U.S. or access certain federal facilities. DMV is anticipating a rush on REAL ID as the deadline approaches.
