It has an overview of EV charging basics, best practices in station design and equitable site selection, general cost information, funding opportunities, and other information for planners of EV charging projects for cars, trucks and SUVs.\u00a0<br><br>\u201cOur goal was to make the guide and tools a one-stop shop for information,\u201d said Amanda Pietz, administrator of the ODOT Policy, Data &amp; Analysis Division. \u201cThey\u2019ll help ensure projects result in accessible and reliable EV charging infrastructure in Oregon, which is key to spurring EV adoption rates and lower emissions from transportation.<br><br>\u201dOne of the support resources is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kai.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/instant\/sidebar\/index.html?appid=56e62b1a28ee4fa3b5fab9acdc8bb040\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EV Infrastructure Planning Map<\/a>. Users of the online map can explore potential sites for EV charging infrastructure throughout Oregon. The map incorporates data on travel habits, demographic information, and equity criteria.<br><br>One of the map\u2019s features is it can rank \u201cpriority areas\u201d for future EV charging projects. Users can rank different potential project areas by factoring in: equity and access; how well it fills gaps in existing charging infrastructure; and how popular a given site may be.<br><br>The other resource is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/odot\/climate\/Documents\/Final_TEINA%20Dashboard_v4(External%20Use)_final.xlsx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TEINA Dashboard estimator tool<\/a>, a spreadsheet data dashboard that estimates needed future charging infrastructure throughout the state.\u00a0Local planners can use the dashboard to break down ODOT\u2019s EV charging estimates by year and geography, including county, municipality or census tract. Planners can also input different assumptions and see how that affects where and when EV charging will be needed.<br><br>The dashboard uses data from ODOT\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/odot\/Programs\/Pages\/TEINA.aspx\">Transportation Electrification Infrastructure Needs Analysis (TEINA) study<\/a>. The 2021 study found a need for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/accounts\/ORDOT\/bulletins\/2e72d8f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">substantial investments<\/a>\u00a0in public EV charging to keep up with Oregon\u2019s EV adoption rates through 2035.<br><br>Explore the guide, map and data dashboard on the new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/odot\/climate\/Pages\/GO-EV-Charge.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GO EV Charge webpage<\/a>. You can also read the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/odot\/climate\/Documents\/TEINA%20Deployment%20Strategy%20Exec%20summary%2008-30-2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive summary PDF<\/a>\u00a0of the guide online.\u00a0Greenhouse gas emissions from transportation make up\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/deq\/ghgp\/Pages\/GHG-Inventory.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">about 35% of total emissions in Oregon<\/a>.
