Oregon DEQ is holding a virtual meeting to provide background information and solicit early input from community members and stakeholders to help inform the development of a future rulemaking – the Advanced Clean Cars II Rule. This future rulemaking will focus on adopting California’s Advanced Clean Cars II Rule by reference. The rule would require light-duty vehicle manufacturers to sell increasing percentages of zero-emission vehicles, like plug-in hybrid electric or battery electric passenger vehicles, beginning with the 2026 model year and with a requirement that by the 2035 model year all new car sales must be zero-emissions.
The meeting is open to all members of the public.

We hope you can join us. This is an opportunity for the public to provide input prior to the start of a formal rulemaking process. DEQ will review all submitted feedback to guide the development of this rulemaking. By late this summer, the agency will also convene an Advisory Committee to help provide input on aspects of the rulemaking and draft rules for public comment.
